InkFE helps you create, customize, and order printed products. This Privacy Policy explains how Ink Fulfillment Express (InkFE) ("InkFE," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you visit inkfe.com, use our design tools or customer workspaces, place an order, or communicate with us.
Personal information includes information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It can also include information about someone else that you provide in a design, team profile, or shipping address.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: Your name, email address, telephone number if supplied, account credentials, saved addresses, and account preferences. We process login and verification information to create, secure, and manage your account with Shopify.
- Orders and payments: Products, quantities, customization choices, billing and shipping details, recipients, order history, transaction status, refunds, and delivery information. Payments are handled through Shopify checkout and its payment providers. We receive order and payment information, which may include your payment method, card brand, and masked card details. Do not send full card numbers or security codes in artwork or support messages.
- Designs and uploaded files: Artwork, logos, photographs, text, QR-code content, print files, design layouts, previews, and associated file information. These materials may contain names, contact details, photographs, or other personal information you choose to include.
- AI design information: Instructions, business and contact information, style preferences, reference images or logos, revision requests, generated artwork, and selections you submit or make when using AI design features.
- Team and business information: Names, roles, offices, notes, shipping addresses, and order associations you save for colleagues or other people. If you use an available industry-specific workspace, we may also collect the professional profiles, branding, property information, photographs, and project details you provide for that service.
- Communications and subscriptions: Your contact details, message content, order reference, support correspondence, and marketing or waitlist preferences.
Please provide another person's information only when you have permission or another valid basis to do so. Avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your design or order, such as government identification numbers, financial account credentials, or medical records.
Information collected automatically
When you use our services, we and our providers may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, approximate location derived from network information, referring pages, campaign information, pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, design-tool interactions, cart activity, and technical or error information.
We use cookies, pixels, browser storage, and similar technologies. We also use identifiers to understand visits, product usage, and purchasing activity. When you are signed in, a pseudonymous account identifier may connect activity across visits. A pseudonymous identifier does not directly display your name or email, but it is not the same as anonymous information.
Information from other sources
We receive information from Shopify and payment providers about transactions; from fulfillment, shipping, and address-validation providers about orders and deliveries; and from analytics and advertising providers about campaign performance and website activity. We may receive information about you from a customer ordering on your behalf.
Where enabled in a real-estate workspace, address and property information may also come from Google Places and RentCast when you request an address lookup or property import.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and authenticate accounts, manage preferences, and provide customer workspaces.
- Let you create, preview, save, retrieve, revise, and reorder designs.
- Generate artwork in response to your AI design requests.
- Check files, prepare print production, process payments, fulfill orders, validate addresses, and arrange delivery.
- Respond to inquiries and send account, verification, order, and service communications.
- Send marketing or waitlist messages according to your preferences and applicable law.
- Understand site usage, evaluate features and experiments, improve performance, diagnose errors, and measure advertising.
- Deliver or help advertising partners deliver relevant advertising.
- Prevent fraud and abuse, enforce service limits and agreements, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.
Some information is necessary to provide a requested service. For example, we need a delivery address to ship an order and the relevant artwork to print a customized product. If you do not provide required information, we may not be able to complete the request.
3. Artwork, saved designs, and AI tools
Design storage and production
Our design tools may save drafts, images, product selections, and cart information in your browser, including local storage and IndexedDB. Other design information and files are stored on our servers or with our storage providers when you use server-backed features or submit artwork for an order.
Browser storage and server storage are separate. Clearing your browser's site data may remove an unsaved local draft, but does not delete an order or files already submitted to us. Removing a server-side design does not necessarily remove copies previously downloaded to your device.
InkFE personnel and service providers may access artwork when needed to review files, provide support, produce your order, or operate and protect the service. If you order for someone else or use an organization-managed account, the account holder or people authorized to manage that workspace may have access to the associated information and orders.
AI processing
When you request an AI-generated design, we send the instructions and relevant content needed for that request to OpenAI, our AI generation provider. Depending on your request, this may include the contact information to appear on the design, an uploaded logo or reference image, and a previously generated image used to create a matching design or revision.
We store generation state, results, and operational records to make designs available, resume work, enforce usage limits, troubleshoot failures, and understand service costs and performance. Information submitted to AI features is therefore processed beyond your browser.
We do not reuse your artwork, logos, photographs, or AI prompts for portfolios, social posts, public templates, model training, or internal evaluations. We have not enabled optional sharing of our API inputs and outputs with OpenAI for model improvement. This does not mean that requests are processed without storage or other processing needed to provide and protect the AI service.
Do not include confidential or sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for the requested artwork.
4. Who receives information
We disclose information for the purposes described above to the following categories of recipients:
- Commerce and payment providers: Shopify and the payment providers used at checkout, for customer accounts, purchases, payment processing, fraud prevention, and order management.
- Technology and operational service providers: Providers that support website hosting, file and database storage, security, email delivery, and order-management workflows. They may process account information, files, communications, or order details needed for those services.
- Production and fulfillment providers: Printers, production partners, shipping carriers, and address-validation services. They receive the artwork, recipient details, and order information needed for their role.
- AI providers: OpenAI, for the generation and editing requests described in Section 3.
- Analytics and advertising partners: Google, Microsoft, and Meta, as described in Section 5.
- Feature-specific providers: Google Places and RentCast where the corresponding address or property features are enabled and used.
- People you authorize: For example, an account holder or workspace administrator managing an order or project on your behalf.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, resolve disputes, or evaluate or complete a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable law.
Some providers also process information for their own purposes under their privacy notices. For example, Shopify's own consumer services are described in its Consumer Privacy Policy. Those notices supplement this policy; they do not replace InkFE's responsibilities for its own processing.
6. Your privacy rights and choices
You can update available account information through your account and contact us about information you cannot change yourself. You can ask to stop marketing emails by using an unsubscribe link provided in a message or contacting us. We may still send necessary account and order communications.
Depending on your location and which laws apply, you may have rights to:
- Obtain information about our processing and access a copy of your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, subject to exceptions such as required transaction records.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Appeal a decision about a privacy request where the law provides that right.
To make a request, email orders@inkfe.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or use our contact form. Describe the request and provide enough information for us to locate the relevant account or records. Do not email your password or full payment-card details.
We may need to verify your identity and, if someone acts for you, their authority. Verification should be proportionate to the request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any applicable refusal or exception. To appeal a decision where available, reply to our response with “Privacy appeal.” We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
If an employer or another customer provided your information, identifying that organization or order can help us locate it. Where we process information on that customer's behalf, we may coordinate the response with them.
7. International visitors
InkFE operates from the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Where EEA, UK, or Swiss data-protection law applies, the legal basis depends on the processing: fulfilling your contract or pre-contract request for accounts and orders; legal obligations for required records; legitimate interests in security, service operation, support, and appropriate improvement activities; or consent where required, including for applicable tracking and direct marketing. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal, and may complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and protections for data transmission. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your account credentials private and take care when using design tools on a shared device or sharing downloaded files and links.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or practices change. We will post the revised policy with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law. This notice describes our practices; visiting our website is not blanket consent to every type of processing.
